Katie Vasil, Seeds of Hope

I am a former teacher and the mother of three daughters.  In 2017, after stepping away from teaching, I began hosting monthly Give Back Events to give people the opportunity to give back to their community.  We collected items for various nonprofits for over two years.  When the opportunity presented itself to help foster families, I knew that I could find people to give stuff and the seed was planted.  I have always looked for ways to serve my community as well as work with families and children.  Seeds of Hope, OH, has become the perfect blend of my experiences and strengths and 4 ½ years in we have a thriving organization serving foster, kinship and adoptive families.  You can learn more about Seeds of Hope OH at www.seedsofhopeoh.org or contact me at [email protected].

SEEDS OF HOPE OH HISTORY & MISSION
Started in March 2019 by Katie Vasil and Kristy Inoa, Seeds of Hope OH supports foster and kinship families within the local community. Initially Seeds of Hope OH provided families receiving a new placement with a bag of basic supplies such as diapers, wipes, toothbrushes, hairbrushes, and soap. Within a month of launching, we saw that the needs for this community were far greater than what could be provided in the welcome bag.
